Melodie's Little Farmhouse - A Mobile Home Remodel

Melodie's Little Farmhouse

A few years ago,
Melodie and her husband set a goal to become debt free.
They sold their site built home for a nice profit and
paid cash for this 1995 Double Wide Mobile Home.

As you'll see over the next few days,
they are extremely creative and have added farmhouse
style to every inch of this home.

Today, I'm sharing their Beautiful
Dining Room

I love the simplicity ... it's timeless.

The couple built their harvest table
about five years ago using materials from Lowes.

She said, "it's been ultra durable ... like no other".

Melodie's candlestick collection - beautifully displayed.

I love the old window panes hanging in the windows.

Can you imagine this room set up for Thanksgiving dinner?
I sure can.

The real charm of this room comes from
the time-worn pieces Melodie has picked up
at salvage yards, garage sales, thrift stores etc.

Dining Chairs
$20.00 each at a junk store
(She cleaned, stained & upholstered them)

Upholstered Chairs
$10.00 each at a garage sale
(She cleaned, painted & recovered them)

The Church Pew
came from an individual
(She has two - the other one is on her porch)

The Green Hutch
came from the Salvation Army.
(She painted it and added the darling knobs)

Dishes
The hutch houses the dishes Melodie has collected over
the years, again from garage sales, thrift stores ... etc.

Melodie's Farmhouse Home Tour
The Dining Room is only the beginning...
there is so much more to see, so be watching for updates.

Melodie says they are very proud of this home and feel blessed
that they don't owe the bank ... it belongs to them.

  2. What a wonderful remodel! Absolutely amazing. If I could pick my favorite thing it would be the windows.

    Or the table.

    Or the chairs.

Oh, never mind. It's too hard to choose.

Looking forward to the next posting!

  9. I love seeing other people's manufactured homes decorated in farmhouse style. This one is beautiful!! We also live in one and my goal is that once people step foot inside they completely forget the fact that it's a mobile home. I'm getting there...little by little. : )

  11. Love her style! A lot of people think that mobile homes are just a trailer. Not so! My mom and dad bought one after dad retired and it was gorgeous. Her style was more fancy, but Melodies style is simply gorgeous! Love, love that table and her other collected pieces. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
    hugs,
