Front Porch - A Sneak Peak

If you're a follower that watches for updates about our home,
you'll be pleased to see that we're working on our front porch.

This is a Sneak Peek

It's undergoing quite a transformation and I'll be posting before / after pictures soon.

How do you like our checkerboard deck?
(something I almost talked myself out of yesterday)

Every single muscle in my body is screaming right now,
but I'm so glad I decided to paint it.
(besides, if I hadn't I would have always wished I had)

Don't you just LOVE projects like this one ...
Ones that you can actually SEE what you've accomplished
at the end of the day.

  1. Wow Geneva! I love it! I am so glad you shared this because hubby and I are hoping to build a new porch this summer and I really want to paint the floor. I love the checkerboard and have thought about that or maybe even chevron stripes! I can;t wait to see it all done...:)

  2. It looks gorgeous!!!
I just finished painting my bedroom floor ( just white - no design - although I really contemplated the idea of doing a chevron )
Can't wait to see this finished!

  3. I love it!! I have a small entryway that I've been wanting to paint in a checkerboard pattern, and now it doesn't seem so daunting when I see what a large area you've completed. I'll have to do a much smaller scale than yours, though. I can't wait to see the whole porch!

  5. How do I like it?
I love it. I know you're achy right now...but as soon as that wears off...you'll be on to something else, and just enjoying LOOKING at your porch.

Can't wait for the before and afters.

  6. I just showed The Honey the video of your first 30 days of work in your house.

I had to come back and say...ha ha ha...I remember those shoes! Your signature photo of a project well done. :P

  7. it looks sharp! Our cottage needs something done to the floor and this is another option! Did you put any sealer on top of it?

    1. Thank You Marietta! I haven't put a sealer on it just yet, but plan to. We're thinking we need to let the paint cure a few days first. This treatment would be perfect for a cottage like yours...you'll have to give it a try.

  11. Love it! I did a checkerboard porch floor years ago, but it was quite small.
