Frames & Graphics
I've had these little frames tucked away in a trunk for years. It occurred to me the other day that they'd be perfect for a little art project.
The frames are 4x6, 3x5 and 2x3
I downloaded several graphics from Karen's blog ...
Combining Bird Prints With Graphics That Would Serve As Mats.
If you're not familiar with The Graphics Fairy...
she has wonderful Free graphics.
I added water around the opening of the mat to
fray the edges and a little on the mat to add character...
but the rest was just like playing with paper dolls again.
I love that this says "Song" at the top...
A Closer Look ... My favorite is the green one.
This was a VERY inexpensive art project, so if I get tired of these prints...I can always download something else...like bees for instance. They are my favorite graphic from her blog ... (just in case you hadn't noticed)
Then there was this... I printed a picture of my granddaughter, cut around the silhouette and layered it onto another one of Karen's graphics.
Can I just say ...
Well... You know.

I really enjoyed your post today. I have some empty frames too tucked away and it never occurred to me to fill them with beautiful artwork like you have. I love the vintage look you have created.
these are so cute! i love the layered look you gave the art- it adds more interest!ReplyDelete
How perfect is this. What a great idea. I love the mat idea too. Thanks tons for joining TTT. Hugs, MartyReplyDelete
I like these a lot. The birds are fantastic with those frames and backgrounds. Nothing beats a sweet picture of a grandbaby.
Great idea and very inexpensive. Think how much these would be at a gift boutique. This way you can get a mat that you want... one that accents your pictures. Your granddaughter is just precious.
Thanks for sharing this creative project at my party!

You really dressed up those frames. I love how you layered the prints! And the baby picture of your granddaughter is just precious. I just purchased an old oval frame with a pretty print in it. I just posted about it, and wish I knew more about it. Have a great rest of the week!ReplyDelete

A beautiful project! I love the frames and the images you selected. Thanks for sharing, LauraReplyDelete
Geneva, these are really special and so pretty. I LOVE them!! Great use of old frames. I have a question, how did you fray the edges of the inside circle on the largest one? I love that effect.ReplyDelete
Love these frames, specially because of my love of birds.ReplyDelete
Thanks for the inspiration.
Geneva, What a great idea! I love the Graphics Fairy too. Thanks for sharing! ~KristieReplyDelete

Your frames were gorgeous before and now they look so perfect with their new content. Lovely project!ReplyDelete
Geneva, oh girl these are right up my alley. I have such a fetish for anything that has to do with birds. The frames were just perfect for the darling graphics. I like how you tore the opening and added a bit of water. I love the bee graphics also. My SIL threw a bridal shower and use the theme, "Queen Bee". We had so much fun decorting with crowns and bee items. The picture of your grand daughter is so sweet and I love the background. Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.ReplyDelete
So pretty! Thank you for joining me at Home Sweet Home!ReplyDelete
