How are Things at the Homeplace?

How are things at the new homeplace?
I had a blogger ask me that yesterday and it got me itching to touch base with you again.
Sometimes, life just gets in the way ... which isn't always a bad thing.  :)

Mobile Cottage

We moved our mobile home a little over a year ago, so now, we lovingly refer to it as the Mobile Cottage.  Kinda like a "BIG" ... Tiny House.  By the way...we love the HGTV show Tiny House Hunters,  but sometimes scratch our heads and wonder why some of the Tiny House Families haven't purchased a Mobile Cottage like ours...makes perfect sense to us.  We know from experience that a family living in a tiny space can be a little testy.  Seriously, there are only two of us and we're always grateful for some "my-own-space" time.  Just Sayin.

The Homeplace - Mobile Cottage Bliss

It's taken a year + but we're finally getting to that place where
Home Sweet Home
is right here.

We have little nooks and crannies for our "my-own-space" time;

made room for butterflies and bees

and you've seen it before .. Buzz's little bits of this and that on display in the garden.

It's retirement on a dime ... it's retirement 101 ... it's retirement with contentment ...
... and with God's help, we're enjoying the journey.

"Mobile Cottage Living"
The Homeplace.

Lest you think it's perfect bliss; there's a reason you're only seeing bits and pieces.
We're living in the real world here.

Blessings, Sweet Friends!

  3. I love your Mobile cottage! We thought we'd be moving in 2015 and didn't do it. I had my heart set on something smaller... I supposed it could still happen. If we did move-- DEBT REDUCTION would be at the top of my list, I guess we're just so dern comfortable and complacent. Down sizing any more just seems so scary at times! The truth is, and I've said it to you right here in the comments ...what? a 100 times? ... I'd love to redo a mobile cottage like yours and live debt free! You are my mobile cottage heroes!
Say Hi to Buzz too! Love his paint brushes on display... Keep doing what you do. You encourage all of us!

  4. have missed you and wondered if you were all settled in, I agree the Tiny Houses are adorable but don't think I could live in such a small space and wonder also if having a mobile cottage wouldn't be a fit,I know I have to have my space at times and hubby is glad I have it too!

    1. Thank you for your sweet comment. Yes, we're settled in and really beginning to enjoy our new space. It took a little longer than I want to admit .... but we've learned a few lessons along the way. Our lives are way busier than we ever dreamed ... no slowing down for these retired peeps. :) Blessings!

  5. So... dweeb here.... previous comment as unknown, I think. Anyway. I'm the one who just commented that I went house hunting and bought a small (two bedroom one bath) stickbuilt fixer upper.... I LOVE my MOHO. But I will never survive emotionally if I get a notice to vacate.

    1. :) I didn't get your unknown comment ... but no problem. Sounds like you're a neat lady! We love our MOHO too, and didn't think we'd survive a move either, but we did and probably could do it again if we have to and as it's turned out ... the move was a positive in our lives. Go figure! Best wishes with your fixer upper ... sounds like a lot of fun. Blessings! G

  7. I like the idea of a mobile home. I've been thinking that it must be difficult to leave a garden behind whenever you move the home but that can be solved with container gardening. I hope I get to try it.
