Sometimes Life Changes The Best Of Plans ...

The end of 2012 and the beginning of 2013 didn't go quite as planned.  I had visions of doing all these wonderful Christmas/New Years posts and it just didn't happen this year.
Blogging was put on hold while we helped care for Buzz's mom.  Even though the circumstances weren't the best it was such a blessing to be with her and see the tender moments between a mother and her son.

Thankfully, she's much better and back in familiar surroundings...so we're home now and catching up on some much needed rest.

I'll be writing a New Years post for you soon ... my mind is racing with ideas.  Of course they won't all hit the page, but it's nice to think about them.

In the mean time...keep focusing on God.
without Him, none of this is any fun...
and with Him it's All joy!

Blessings to You and Yours this New Year!

If you'd like to see a few pictures of Buzz's family taken just before Christmas, visit my facebook page. His mother is beautiful, inside and out...and his sister is as close to perfect as you can get.

  3. I'm glad your mother in law is much better!

My holiday blogging intentions were also derailed by my mother being in the hospital (she is home now and doing much better) and then I got the flu -- ugh.

Well, I figure life is so much more and richer than sitting in front of a computer -- although I am happy now to have a little time to visit my favorite bloggy peeps! I'm glad you have had a chance to check in and let us know how you are doing.

  4. Geneva,
A mother and son's love is so special. It sounds like you have been through alot lately. Take care, and I hope the new year is being kind to you. I am just getting over an awful flu bug myself.

  7. Geneva-- I've had a hit and miss holiday too...with intermittent posts!
Glad you MIL is doing well. I was able to take care of my MIL the last 8 mos. of her life. God knew what he was doing when He arranged that...and I miss her now.
I love the statement you put at the end of your post.
...without Him none of it's fun, and with Him it's all joy!" Is that your own words? or a quote...I'd like to write that down, because it's so true!

Have a blessed week and a very happy new year, Pat

  10. Geneva,
Life happens when you are making other plans...I am right there with you. I took lots of pictures over the holidays of things we did, but I was celebrating Christmas and loving family and posting was less important than the celebrations! My hubby's mom is a widow now and she and I have so much fun together. We have for 32 years, and I am so glad she lives near us. She is such an angel in my life on so many levels. So, I am grateful I have the opportunity to be there for her like she has been there for me all these years. When she isn't feeling good, we just try to enjoy what time we have where ever it is, her house, the car, my house, the car, doctor's office, the car, or the hospital, we've done it all this past year. And I am glad I get to be her chauffeur and occasionally nurse...I have always wanted to be French! LOL

    1. You're right ... sometimes life certainly takes priority over blogging. It's neat to hear that you have such a good relationship with your mother in law... aren't we blessed!
